Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14, 1980) is an American actor, singer and dancer. Her career began with Broadway career in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde and Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford grew up in a world of her professional career working with highly acclaimed actors and directors in stage as well as television. She continues that award-winning work with numerous upcoming projects. Ashford's upcoming production will be an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22nd and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film is a Hulu Original, the film will be released on Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford returns to Broadway in March 2023, with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show is being directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that created Hamilton. Ashford has played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, that is a re-telling of the drama in which Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp was the lead character of the first impeachment proceedings in America. For two seasons, she played a prominent role in CBS's hit comedy B Positive. Produced by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No previous to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Other Broadway roles for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, featuring George Wicked legally Blonde, and her performance as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received an Tony Award nomination. She was born and raised in Denver Ashford has now divided the time in Los Angeles and New York.
