Rochon is a native of Torrance, Los Angeles suburb of Torrance, her parents being Zelma who is a nurse practitioner as well as Samuel Staples, a business proprietor and graphic artist. Cerritos High School, Cerritos California is the place where Rochon finished her high school education in 1982. Ullerup first made an appearance in Battlestar Galactica remake, the Sci-Fi Channel's television show. She played Julia Brynn. In the first two seasons of Sanctuary the actress appeared as Ashley Magnus until the character was deleted. Her departure remained a topic of heated debate among supporters, with many who wanted her back for future episodes until the show was cancelled in the year 2012. Ullerup was on the show Chesapeake Shores as Bree O'Brien. Ullerup portrayed Maggie Thomas in Asteroid: Final Impact, the movie which was about the catastrophe of 2015. Ullerup is a regular as Dale Travers, in the Hallmark Signed, Sealed, Delivered movie series, since 2016.
