At the start the high school year, Sasha became transgender.. These were tough years, but Sasha knew with the support from his family and friends she could take on anything. Jim and Sasha, both songwriters, have recently become an official duo, and they have performed in open mics as well as various other venues in the area. Although The Voice coaches did not talk about Sasha's background, the duo as well as Jim talked about their lives through a short introduction clip that was played before the show. When Sasha was a freshman in his high school years, he made the decision to come out as trans and began transitioning into a male.
